Food, food, and more food...

One thing that is never lacking at the Kansas MCC Relief Sale is food! Here is a sampling of what you will find and what has gone into bringing them to you:

VERENIKA AND BONA BEROGGI

In the days and months leading up to the sale, there is much that goes on in the background from preparing donations to ordering supplies for the event. Also, volunteers gather in the weeks before the sale to prepare the Bohne Beroggi and Verenika.

The Bohne Beroggi making day is scheduled Saturday, April 3 (3 1/2 hour shifts starting at 7am until 2pm) at the Moundridge High School lunch room. For more information contact, Herb and Denise Stucky at 620-345-2591.

Volunteers are also needed Tuesday, April 6 at the Hillsboro fairgrounds to prepare the Verenika. Call Arlen and Anita Goertzen, 620-367-8373 for more information.

FEEDING OF THE MULTITUDE

This German buffet typically serves between 6,000 and 10,000 people, and features such morsels as Verenika, Bonne Beroggi, Borscht, Zwiebach bread, and home-made pie.

PANCAKE AND SAUSAGE BREAKFAST

Saturday morning be sure to stop by the Pride of Kansas building for a scrumptious breakfast of eggs, pancakes, sausages, and orange juice, milk, or coffee. Over 1,300 people will be served.

BARBECUES AND OTHER FOOD

A lot of people enjoyed the chicken barbecue last year, and almost every building has food to buy and eat there or to take home. Some of the other food you will find includes cheese, apple butter, New Year's cookies (over 35,000 made for an average sale), apple fritters, hamburgers, pork tenders, tacos, yogurt, ice cream, funnel cakes, hams, and more!
