The 2005 Sale IS OVER!
Remember to mark April 7 & 8, 2006 on your calendar for next year!
  • NEW!Garrison Keillor of Prairie Home Companion had a nice description of the Kansas Mennonites and the Kansas Mennonite Relief Sale during his recent Prairie Home Companion performance at the Kansas State Fairgrounds. You can listen to it about a third of the way into Segment 6 (tail end of history of Hutchinson, around 01:50:08) on the Archive Page for the September 10 show.

  • NEW!Garrison's not the only one talking. Christianity Today had a nice article about Mennonites, Bretheren, and Amish and their worldwide relief efforts in which the Relief Sales, though not mentioned in the article, play a significant part on the fund raising side.

  • There are still Other MCC Sales going on throughout the months of October and November. Make sure you look at the list and find the closest ones to visit!

  • The Live Coverage section can be visited for pictures and information that were posted from the sale. It also includes a summary of the sale's success at the end.
  • The 2005 Quilt Gallery is showing the highest bids each of the close to 200 quilts and quilt-related items that were listed sold for at the auction. A few of the late comers are not listed.

This web site requires a web browser. And a computer, or something like it. I'm not going to tell you you need Microsquishies's Internet Exploiter 6.0, or that you need Netscrape Nagrivator 7.1, or Oprah 7.2, though I do think you'd like Firefox. You don't need 1600x1280 pixels on your screen, but you should have at least 640x480, which you probably do. I'm not using Java or JavaScript (I think) or Cascading Style Sheets or Flash or Acrobat (well, maybe a little Acrobat for some forms) or the newest whiz-bang lets-make-it-work-in-as-few-browsers-as-possible technologies. I'm for sure not using ActiveX in any way, shape or form! You don't need a super fast 3.8GHz computer running Netscrape 9.9 on a T1 Internet connection, I suspect the site should be pretty usable on a 33MHz 386 Windows 3.1 computer running Netscrape 3.0 on a dial-up connection... well, at least more usable than a lot of other pages. You might need a magnifying glass to read this text, however. I designed this web site to work -- and hopefully look good -- on what you have. Please let me know if something doesn't work or doesn't look good! 96.4% (plus or minus 50%) of this web site was hand-crafted with pride using HTML and DOS EDIT. Oh, except for the graphics -- I didn't do a single one of them in DOS EDIT, I used slighly more graphical tools for them.

Thanks to Datility for donating space for the web site!
