January 2011
To: Church Sewing Groups
This letter is coming to you from the Quilt Committee of the KS MCC Relief Sale.
The dates for the KS MCC Relief Sale are April 8 and 9, 2011. Please put this date on your church calendar.
Your donated item can be brought to the North Newton MCC office anytime until March 10, 2011. The office hours at MCC are 8am-Noon and 1-5pm Monday through Thursday, the office is closed on Friday. Your item must be labeled for the MCC Relief Sale. Your item can also be sent with your church contact person to any of the meetings of the Relief Sale committees that meet on the first Thursday of each month until the sale. New this year, we will accept donations until March 10. Any item received after that will be added to the 2012 sale.
The items donated for the Quilt Auction will be displayed on the internet beginning in March. We need to have the Quilts in our possession in order to put them on the internet. These quilts will be viewed by people all over the U.S. In past years we have had people come from out of state to purchase a quilt because they saw it on the internet. The address for this web site is: kansas.mccsale.org. Please announce this in your church bulletin in early March.
Some donated items may be transferred to the Crafts section of the sale at the Quilt Committees discretion. Early donations will be considered for display in area businesses and libraries, so please send your items as soon as possible. Please display your donated items before bringing them to the MCC Center. Once the items are measured and photographed, they will not be released for display purposes. If you need a registration form for your quilt, you may print one from the web site, or see your MCC contact person. Please be sure a form is pinned to each quilt and is properly filled out. We graciously welcome any and all donations. We will use these resources as best we can to promote the cause of Christ and his people around the world. Give your donation to God and let it go.
A limited number of quilt tops in various sizes are available to be quilted by individuals or groups and then returned to MCC. If interested, contact Ruth Vogt or Pat Miller. If your sewing group has quilters but not piecers, please look into this option.
Happy Quilting!!
