1949 John Deere Model AO

This 1949 John Deere Model AO was donated by Dennis Warkentin of Orchard Farms, Reedley, CA. Dennis is pictured above with the tractor in Reedley. The sale recently received word that Dennis passed away in January. He was wanting to make it until it sold, but it didn’t happen that way. “I hope it does well, LOTS and LOTS of hours in this one,” said Jerry Toews who has restored it for the auction on April 13. (More photos of the restoration process below)

The O in the model signifies that this is an orchard tractor.  The Model AO is a RARE tractor in the midwest as most that were manufactured were sold in orchard country such as California and Washington and didn’t get to the Midwest.

This tractor will have a complete restoration when completed which includes disc assembly, cleaning of ALL parts and rebuilding what needs rebuilding including bushings and bearings.  Repainting using high quality John Deere Classic Paint with hardener.  Tractor will have NEW Fenders, hood is original with ALL Orchard Scoops, extra fender extensions and flywheel orchard cover.  NEW battery and Good Tires with NEW tubes installed.
This is an opportunity to bid on a RARE Orchard John Deere that has ALL the hard work restoration finished.
