Special License Plate

Dr. Roland and Mrs. Marjorie Krause were inspirational leaders,
donors, and friends – especially when it came to Mennonite Central
Committee and the annual relief sale.  They helped promote the MCC
Sale in several ways, perhaps the most visible of which was the
license plate on their car, clearly embossed as MCCSALE.

My wife Sheri and I were fortunate to be active members alongside Doc
and Marj at Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church for a few years beginning
in 1998.  We always enjoyed fellowship with them at Camp Mennoscah,
the MCC Sale, and other faith-based events in years after.  Doc knew
that I collected license plates, and he gave me some in what I think
was 2003: among them was this historic gem, and I believe that he kept
the other plate from the pair.

This “MCCSALE” license plate has been secure in my collection for the
past 20+ years while we lived in Newton KS, Valley Center KS, and now
Sylvania OH (near Toledo).  I am excited for the license plate to
return to its home state of Kansas, and my prayer is that money raised
from its sale will wisely provide relief for those in this world who
need it most.

Blessings,

Alan Lepard
